ArSRT News

ArSRT members,

As we quickly approach the 2017 Annual Conference and the installation of new officers, I prepare to end my term as your president. It has been an amazing year. I've truly been enriched by the people within our profession and the opportunities through the ArSRT this past year.

Twelve (12) free continued education units were available to our members this year during CE Saturday events in Siloam Springs, Morrilton and Hot Springs. Sponsorship from these facilities allowed us to reach out and fulfill our educational mission. Supporting breast cancer at the Race for the Cure in Little Rock was great fun. Lynn Davis does an awesome job representing our mammography professionals.

Another fun event was the social at Appleblossum Brewery in Fayetteville. The time to socialize while sharing information about the ArSRT and challenges in our profession has not been prioritized as in prior years.

The website has a new look and format to allow for more information, like job postings and a calendar of events. In the near future, technical advances that are being implemented will allow our website to manage a majority of our membership information. Communication via email will be easier and automatic renewal reminders will be implemented.

The board and committees accomplished many tasks without driving for hours to meet due to the sponsored conference calls by Highlands Oncology Group.

Thirty-five proposed Bylaw amendments have been structured for membership voting at the Annual Conference in Fort Smith, March 30 - April 1, 2017.

Advocacy for all imaging professionals starts with you and your ArSRT membership. I encourage each of you to become more involved in the opportunities within the Society. Volunteer and become a board member to see the depth of our mission. Scholarship opportunities are available if you want to further your education. Free Leadership Development for both technologists and students is available. The ability to have professional resources in multiple modalities and all levels of management is priceless.

Become a member today and join me in continuing to support the ArSRT and all imaging professionals.

Sincerely,
Tracy Parent RT(R)(CT)
ArSRT President
