EXHIBIT RULES
NOTE: Exhibit set-up may begin at
7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning of the convention. Exhibits should remain in place all day
Thursday and removed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday of the convention.
1. PRIZES
There will
be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for both the
student and technologist levels.
2. ELIGIBILITY
All members
in good standing of the ArSRT are eligible to compete for awards, except:
a. ArSRT President
b. Convention Chairpersons
c. Convention Co-Chairpersons
d. Exhibit Chairperson
e. Exhibit Judges
f. Persons employed by a
commercial firm engaged in the sale and/or manufacture of x-ray or nuclear
products
3. JUDGING
A. The judges are to be selected by the
President and/or Exhibit Chairperson, and shall be responsible only to them.
B. The selection of winning exhibits shall
be based upon the ratings listed in the Exhibit Judging Evaluation Scale.
4. APPLICATION FOR SPACE
A. All entry forms must be
received no later than March 28, 2011.
B. There is no limit of
exhibits per school.
C. The exhibit committee
requests that students select an instructor, or ask the Program Director of the
school, to collect applications and send them as a group by registered mail.
D. The total space allotted for
any one (1) exhibit shall not exceed eight (8) 14 x 17 inch viewing
spaces.
E. Due to cost constraints,
no actual films requiring illumination will be allowed. All images must be transferred to paper.
F. Technologists must submit a
$10.00 entry fee at the time of application, or convention
registration. Students’ convention registration covers the
cost of any competition.
G. All exhibit winners are
required to attend the “Honors Luncheon” to receive their awards, as requested
by the Executive Board. The luncheon
will be provided by the ArSRT. Should a
luncheon not be held, awards will be given following the completion of the quiz
bowl on Friday.
5. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Exhibits must be the work of
the individual technologist/student and be entered in his/her name. The name of the hospital, office, or school
may appear as part of the address on the “Application for Space & Entry”
form. Names are NOT to be
placed on the exhibit until judging is completed.
B. The exhibit should consist
of a subject pertaining to medical imaging and supplemented by such charts,
photography, technical factors, etc., as needed.
As with the state level, radiographs will not be allowed as
part of an exhibit if it is submitted on the national level.
C. All patient names, hospital
or clinic names, and technologist names must be removed from any radiographic
images used for display.
D. Exhibits will NOT be
considered for an award if they have been displayed at any radiological
meetings, i.e. ACR, RSNA, AMA, ASRT,
etc. They may, however, be displayed on
a noncompetitive basis.
E. No part of an award-winning
exhibit is permitted to be used again in competition at the state level.
